As soon as you enter your apartment you will be amazed by the strong relationship between the ancient Sicilian tradition and the nature of the Mediterranean coast. We believe that the magic and essence of the place should be protected in every aspect, the real comfort of our apartments is their uniqueness.
The old fishermen’s houses have been adapted to accommodate you, respecting the place and its history, so you won’t find TV or telephone lines… and trust us, you won’t miss them!
Located under the medieval tower and leaning against the rock, it is the oldest architectural nucleus of the Tonnara. The rooms housed the administrative offices. The three apartments are characterised by simple elements, the presence of living rock and exposed tuff. They all have a sea view and a private Mediterranean garden facing south.
It is a testimony to the presence of Sicily’s most famous family, the Florios, who enlarged and modified the building in the Art Nouveau style. There are six apartments to choose from, all with one or more balconies overlooking the sea. Typical Sicilian ceramics enrich the floors of the place, which are decorated in a maritime Art Nouveau style with warm and welcoming nuances.
The block of flats outside the baglio (Sicilian walled country estate) housed the lodgings of the fishermen and the Rais (head of the fishermen). Today there are five independent living units, all with windows overlooking the sea. The apartments show a nautical and simple style that we have enriched with disused fishermen’s objects recovered from the Tonnara.
The two housing units hold the oven that was once used by the Bagliera, the only woman among the fishermen, whose task was to bake bread for everyone. For this reason they are the furthest rooms from the departure points of the boats. The apartments enjoy a panoramic view of the whole Tonnara and therefore also of the sea. The interior is in nautical style adapted to accommodate you.
All the housing units have a sea view and are inside our monumental complex. Palazzina Florio and Sotto la Torre are located inside the baglio, while the Taverne and Vicarie, ancient fishermen’s houses, are outside.
All our apartments are different from each other, and each of them will tell you stories and sensations, some have two beds, others three, others four with the possibility of adding an extra one. The choice of room depends on your needs and tastes, but we love them all!
Your family and children are always welcome! Precisely because we rent apartments with five or more beds, you can enjoy your holiday with your children in a spacious environment. Moreover, the seaside village of Tonnara is a safe and controlled environment so you don’t have to worry.
Check-in can be from 3.30 p.m. on the day of your arrival.
The apartment must be vacated by 10.30 am on the day of your departure.
For any request we will do our best to satisfy you. Since we are not a hotel, but we simply rent the apartment that best suits your needs, any request will be considered as extra to the overnight fee. For these reasons services from third parties will be requested.
Yes. If you are travelling with your own vehicle, you can park it in the provided space for no extra charge.
